Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Posted by

·

Pop Century is one of my favorite Disney Resorts. It offers great value and my favorite mode of transportation, The Disney Skyliner. The resort is themed around the pop culture and fads of the 20th century, celebrating different decades from the 1950s to the 1990s. Each section of the resort represents a specific era, featuring larger-than-life icons and decorations reminiscent of that time period.

Accommodations

Pop Century offers over 2,800 guest rooms, making it one of the largest resorts in Walt Disney World. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and brightly decorated, with various amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. Rooms at Pop are simple, modern, and CLEAN! All rooms at Pop are standard double queen rooms, with one of the queen beds being a Murphy style bed that doubles as a table area when it is not used for sleeping. A coffee station and a mini fridge are also included in your rooms at this resort. When checking in, make sure to check out all the awesome memorabilia lining the lobby that is sure to bring up some nostalgia for you! You can find characters being done most days in the entrance to the Everything Pop dining hall as well as an amazing gift shop! Be sure to check out the gift shop multiple times during your stay as they bring in new items frequently!

Dining

The main dining at this resort is the Everything POP Shopping & Dining food court, which offers a variety of quick-service meals and snacks inspired by classic American comfort food. Our favorite thing to do coming home from the parks in the late night, is to get a whole pizza on our way back to the room. It’s a tradition in my family and quick and easy solution to late night snacking for the whole family! There are also poolside bars and snack bars available for guests to enjoy.

Recreation

Pop Century provides numerous recreational activities for guests of all ages. Amenities include three swimming pools, a kiddie pool, a playground, jogging trails, arcade games, and nightly outdoor movie screenings. You can also find the Rec team out by the pool doing mickey tie dye shirts for an added fee some days! This is a super fun activity for all ages and a fun keepsake for your trip!

Transportation

Like all Disney resorts, Pop Century offers complimentary transportation to all of the Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs via bus transportation and the Disney Skyliner. This makes it convenient for guests to explore everything that Disney World has to offer. Remember the Skyliner only goes to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You will have to take a bus for Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. The Skyliner also makes stops at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as well as the Rivera resort on the Epcot route.

YOU CAN FLY, YOU CAN FLY, YOU CAN FLY! When Traveling by Skyliner, remember you will have to transfer to a new vehicle at the Hub at the Caribbean Beach resort. You will be wisked away from Pop Century and your first stop will be the Hub. Once you depart, you will then follow the signs to the left for Hollywood studios, or straight ahead for Epcot. Once you embark on your next Skyliner, you will then arrive at your destination. Note that when you take the Skyliner to Epcot, you will stop by the Riviera Resort dock where a cast member will ask you if you are staying on, the answer is YES if you are heading to Epcot, and NO if you are wanting to disembark and visit the Riviera Resort. You will not need to transfer again after getting on at the Caribbean Beach hub to get to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. This is by far my favorite mode of transportation across Disney Property.

Overall, Disney’s Pop Century Resort provides guests with a fun and nostalgic atmosphere, comfortable accommodations, and convenient access to all of the magic and excitement of Walt Disney World. Whether you’re traveling with family, friends, or solo, it’s a fantastic choice for a memorable Disney vacation.
